The Institute of History Belgrade and the Open-air Museum “Old Village” Sirogojno organized the international scientific conference “The Balkan Village – Continuities and Changes through History”. 

The conference took place in Sirogojno, Zlatibor Mountain from June 10th to June 11th and it gathered scientists from different areas and countries. During these two days historians, ethnologists, art historians, anthropologists and other scientists from Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Austria, Turkey etc. discussed different aspects regarding the development of Balkan village and opened important questions for future research.

EAT had the opportunity to participate in this conference. Our team member Dr. Ksenija Bunjak discussed the idea of ecology in the traditional rural architecture. We are looking forward to deepen our research in this area and to continue our work on the Serbian Village Atlas project (SVA).
